Luc turns 4!

Our first Baby Olive is now 4!!! It's hard to believe that four years ago, he was spending time in the NICU after being born a month and a half early. We initially worried about his progress, but he soon showed us what a resilient, tenacious and thriving little person he can be!

These days, Luc continues to explore the world in his own way. He loves all kinds of vehicles-- trains, cars, trucks, planes, space ships, and anything else with an engine. He's into Thomas the Tank Engine, Diego, and the Backyardigans. He loves to sing, improvise his own songs and make people laugh. We're so proud of his caring nature and his ability to show compassion for others at such a young age.

Luc's getting read to start Pre-K in September, but has already mastered the alphabet, counting to 20, shapes, colors and reading a few words (like "STOP"). He understands French and English perfectly well, even though he often responds in English.

He's got a daredevil side to him-- he loves running, climbing on things (or people) and has no qualms about jumping down the stairs 3 steps at a time. But he's also gentle-- he's been practicing how to be a big brother by singing to his stuffed gorilla and putting it to bed on the crib set up in our room.

Happy Birthday, Luc! We love you more and more each day. We feel incredibly lucky to be your parents. Love, Mama and Papa

Homemade ice cream cakes (blueberry-vanilla and strawberry-vanilla). And when I say "homemade" this also means Paul made the ice cream from scratch.
